Welcome to the Townsend Harris High School Parent Teacher Association web site. All students’ families are automatically members of the PTA, although your voluntary contribution will help to support our activities. We encourage your active participation and support and look forward to seeing you at our meetings. To receive email notices from the PTA you can register your email address with us on the Resources page. (The PTA maintains its own email list, separate from that maintained by the school.) If you have any questions, please contact us. The PTA is organized and constituted in accordance with Chancellor's Regulation A-660.
By-laws. The PTA by-laws were revised by a vote of the general membership on April 22, 2010, and again on May 26, 2010 to make them in compliance with changes in the A-660. A copy of these by-laws may be downloaded by clicking this link. Note: the downloaded copy does not include the signed signature page, which is available on request.
What We Do and How You Can Help. The PTA plays an active role in enriching the educational, cultural, and social experience of our children by funding various projects and programs in the school. It also educates and informs parents through workshops and meetings with invited speakers. None of these activities would be possible without your voluntary contributions. Your donations are absolutely essential for the success of the PTA mission. They are part of what has made Townsend Harris High School the premier institution that it is.
