Over the years, the PTA has raised money to fund a wide variety of programs and projects, including

  • Annual Winter Carnivals;
  • Annual Student Drama Productions;
  • The Advanced Music Program at Queens College;
  • The creation of the Townsend Harris DNA Science Lab;
  • Entry of the school's robotics team into its first ever U.S. First Robotics Competition;

These projects would not have been possible without the generous donations of the families of our students. Many of the projects benefited not just those who were students at the time, but those who entered the school later. In other words, they were permanent improvements to the school. When our students take the Ephebic Oath upon entering the school, they promise to leave their school and community a better place than they found it. We, their families, can do a similar service by donating to the PTA fundraisers, so that the PTA can continue to make lasting contributions to the school, and support new, enriching, and inspiring projects for all of its students, present and future.

The Townsend Harris High School PTA is a 501c(3) non-profit organization and all contributions are tax-deductible to the fullest extent allowable by law. This contribution is not necessary to be a member of the PTA, but it supports a different set of services provided by the PTA, such as speaker fees, and graduation awards.
